FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can I Legally have a Civil Partnership Ceremony in Gran Canaria?

Marriage for Gay Men and Women is now legal in Gran Canaria and many couples are at last able to show their love and committment for each other.

Under Schedule 20 of the Civil Partnership Act 2004, any ceremony you have in Gran Canaria which is recognised as a Legally binding Civil Partnership Ceremony will be recognised as such in the UK

Is the Civil Partnership legally recognised in the UK?

YES.  see above

Is it possible to Marry in a Church?

Whilst the law does not yet allow your civil partnership in a church, we can provide a priest who  is willing to perform the Ceremony in a Chapel in Gran Canaria for you with the legalisation ceremony taking place just before that. We are currently in negotiations with the Registrar to enable the legal section to be part of the religious ceremony as well. We can also offer Spiritual Ceremonies

We have a limited budget. Can you arrange a simple Civil Partnership?

Yes, all of our ceremonies are bespoke and therefore designed to suit your budget however large or small

In other countries you have to visit the island beforehand is this the case with Gran Canaria?

No, you dont have to visit beforehand if we are organising your wedding package as we can take care of the legalities for you.
